Smart ovens add remote preheating, probe-based cooking and notifications, though the connectivity is usually less valuable than the cooking hardware underneath it.
Be clear about what the smart features actually do. Remote preheat and a temperature probe that alerts at a target internal temperature are genuinely useful. Guided recipe modes and app-based recipe libraries tend to go unused after the first month, and several manufacturers have retired the cloud services behind them.
Because an oven is a fifteen-year purchase and a cloud service is not, weigh how much of the value survives if the app disappears. An oven with a good probe and reliable thermostat remains a good oven; one whose core functions require a working account does not.
