The larger financial case is off-peak scheduling. If you are on a time-of-use tariff, delaying a wash to an overnight rate meaningfully reduces running costs over a year. Check whether the delay function is on the appliance itself or requires the app — the former keeps working regardless of what happens to the manufacturer's cloud.
