What You'll Need

  • Philips Hue Bridge

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Connect Ethernet: Plug the included cable into the Bridge and your router.
  2. Connect power: Plug in the power adapter. All three lights will turn on when ready.
  3. Download Philips Hue app: Install on your smartphone.
  4. Open app and tap "Get Started": Follow the welcome prompts.
  5. Search for Bridge: The app will find your Bridge automatically.
  6. Press the button: When prompted, press the large button on top of the Bridge.
  7. Create Hue account: Sign up for cloud features and remote access.
  8. Add lights: Tap "Add lights" and the Bridge will search for nearby Hue bulbs.
  9. Name your lights: Assign meaningful names like "Living Room Lamp."
  10. Create rooms: Group lights by room for easier control.
  11. Set up voice assistants: Link to Alexa, Google Home, or HomeKit in settings.
  12. Enable out-of-home control: Sign in to enable control when away from home.

Troubleshooting

  • Lights not found: Ensure bulbs are powered on. Try searching again or reset bulbs.
  • Bridge not connecting: Check Ethernet cable is firmly connected. Restart router and Bridge.
  • App can't find Bridge: Ensure phone is on the same network as the Bridge.
  • Intermittent connectivity: Check for Zigbee interference from USB 3.0 devices near the router.
