What You'll Need

  • Eve Room (indoor air quality monitor)
  • iPhone or iPad with Apple Home app
  • USB-C cable for charging

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Charge Eve Room: Connect USB-C cable until fully charged
  2. Open Apple Home app: Tap "+" → "Add Accessory"
  3. Scan HomeKit code: Scan code on bottom of device
  4. Wait for pairing: HomeKit will connect via Bluetooth/Thread
  5. Assign to room: Choose the appropriate room
  6. Place sensor: Position at breathing height, away from windows
  7. View readings: Display shows current air quality

Key Features

  • Air quality (VOC): Measures volatile organic compounds
  • Temperature: Accurate room temperature
  • Humidity: Room humidity level
  • E-Ink display: Always-on display shows current readings
  • Thread support: Fast, reliable connectivity
  • Rechargeable: USB-C charging, 6-week battery life

Troubleshooting

  • VOC calibrating: Allow 15 minutes for VOC sensor to calibrate
  • Display dim: E-Ink doesn't need backlight. Normal in low light
  • Battery drain: Thread connection preserves battery better than Bluetooth
  • Historical data: View trends in Eve app, not Apple Home
  • Not updating: Charge battery. May be in low-power mode
