What You'll Need
- Nanoleaf Essentials A19 Matter Bulb (4-Pack)
- Standard E26 light sockets
- Thread border router (HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K, etc.)
- Matter-compatible controller
- Smartphone with controller app
Step-by-Step Setup
- Turn off fixtures: Ensure all fixtures are powered off.
- Install bulbs: Screw each A19 bulb into the E26 sockets.
- Power on: Turn on fixtures. Bulbs will illuminate and enter pairing mode.
- Reset if needed: Turn off/on 3 times quickly to reset.
- Open Matter controller: Apple Home, Google Home, etc.
- Add first bulb: Tap "+" and scan the Matter QR code from packaging.
- Wait for Thread connection: Bulb connects via Thread network.
- Repeat for remaining bulbs: Each bulb has its own Matter code on packaging.
- Assign rooms: Place each bulb in appropriate rooms.
- Group if desired: Create groups for synchronized control.

Troubleshooting
- Bulb not pairing: Ensure Thread border router is online. Reset bulb (3 on/off cycles). Move closer to border router.
- Each bulb needs separate code: Use the unique code from each bulb's packaging.
- Color sync issues: Update firmware. Ensure all bulbs are same generation.
- Bulb offline: Check Thread network status. Power cycle. May need to re-pair.
- Dimming not smooth: Thread bulbs may have slight lag. This is normal for mesh network operation.
