Installing Your Level Lock+ (Matter)

What You'll Need

  • Level Lock+ (Matter version)
  • Standard door prep (2-1/8" bore, 1" edge bore)
  • CR2 battery (included)
  • Smartphone with Level app
  • Thread border router (for Matter)
  • Existing key cylinder (reuses your current keys)
  • Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Remove existing deadbolt: Unscrew and remove both interior and exterior assemblies.
  2. Keep your key cylinder: Level Lock+ reuses your existing exterior key cylinder.
  3. Install Level latch: Insert the new Level latch bolt into the door edge.
  4. Install exterior assembly: Position the exterior housing (with your existing cylinder) and thread the cable through.
  5. Connect interior assembly: Plug in the cable and mount the slim interior housing.
  6. Insert CR2 battery: Open the interior cover and insert the battery.
  7. Download Level app: Install and create an account.
  8. Add the lock: Follow Bluetooth pairing instructions in the app.
  9. Calibrate: Run the calibration to set lock/unlock positions.
  10. Add to Matter: Enable Matter in Level app and scan code with your controller.

Troubleshooting

  • Lock hard to turn: Check door/frame alignment. Ensure latch moves freely. May need to adjust strike plate.
  • Touch-to-unlock not working: Clean the interior touch area. Enable feature in app. Ensure you're touching the sensor area.
  • Matter pairing fails: Verify Thread border router is online. Set up in Level app first, then share to Matter.
  • Apple Home Key issues: Ensure latest iOS. Re-add Home Key in Wallet. Check NFC is enabled.
  • Battery draining fast: High use drains battery faster. Check for binding causing motor strain.
