What You'll Need

  • Philips Hue Dimmer Switch V2

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Remove battery tab: Pull the plastic tab to activate the battery.
  2. Open Hue app: Ensure Hue Bridge is set up and lights are added.
  3. Add accessory: Go to Settings > Accessories > Add accessory.
  4. Select Hue Dimmer Switch: Choose from the list of accessories.
  5. Put in pairing mode: Hold the Setup button on back until LED blinks orange.
  6. Pair: App will find and add the dimmer switch.
  7. Assign to room: Select which room/lights the dimmer controls.
  8. Customize buttons: Configure what each button does in app settings.
  9. Mount: Use adhesive plate or screws to mount on wall.

Troubleshooting

  • Not discovered: Ensure dimmer is near Bridge during pairing. Reset by holding all 4 buttons for 10 seconds.
  • Slow response: Check Zigbee mesh strength. Add Hue bulbs to improve connectivity.
  • Wrong lights responding: Reconfigure room/light assignment in app.
  • Button customization: Use Hue Labs or third-party apps for advanced configurations.
