The Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro combines a 2K security camera with a Zigbee hub for smart home devices. This guide covers both camera and hub functionality issues.

Common Symptoms

  • Camera not recording motion
  • Live view not loading
  • Zigbee devices not connecting
  • AI detection not working

Camera Issues

Live View Not Loading

  1. Check camera power (LED indicator)
  2. Verify WiFi connection strength
  3. Force close and reopen Aqara Home app
  4. Check internet speed (need 2+ Mbps upload)
  5. Restart camera by unplugging

Not Recording Motion

  • Verify recording is enabled in settings
  • Check motion detection is on
  • Adjust sensitivity level
  • Configure activity zones
  • Verify storage (microSD or cloud)

MicroSD Card Issues

  • Use high-endurance microSD (Class 10+)
  • Format card in Aqara app if corrupted
  • Check card capacity in settings
  • Card may need periodic replacement

AI Detection

Not Detecting Properly

  • AI detection includes people, pets, packages
  • Ensure camera has clear view of detection area
  • Adequate lighting improves accuracy
  • Update firmware for latest AI models

Too Many False Alerts

  • Configure activity zones to exclude problem areas
  • Adjust detection sensitivity
  • Filter by detection type (human only, etc.)

Zigbee Hub Function

Adding Zigbee Devices

  1. In Aqara Home, tap + to add device
  2. Select device type
  3. Put Zigbee device in pairing mode
  4. Camera Hub will discover nearby devices

Zigbee Devices Not Connecting

  • Ensure Camera Hub is online first
  • Factory reset the Zigbee device before pairing
  • Keep device close to hub during initial pairing
  • Camera Hub supports up to 128 Zigbee devices

Zigbee Range

  • Add Aqara plugs as repeaters for extended range
  • Battery devices don't repeat signals
  • Consider multiple hubs for large homes

WiFi Connectivity

Setup Requirements

  • Requires 2.4GHz WiFi
  • Strong signal recommended (camera streams video)
  • Keep away from interference sources

Offline Issues

  1. Check router and internet connection
  2. Power cycle the camera hub
  3. Move closer to router if signal weak
  4. Check for firmware updates

HomeKit Secure Video

Requirements

  • iCloud+ subscription (200GB or 2TB for video)
  • Apple Home hub (HomePod, Apple TV)
  • Camera added to Apple Home

HKSV Issues

  • Verify iCloud storage subscription
  • Check Home hub is connected
  • Ensure camera is exposed to HomeKit
  • Review recording settings in Home app

Night Vision

  • Night vision activates automatically in low light
  • Clean lens for clear night footage
  • IR range approximately 10 meters
  • Color night vision requires some ambient light

Two-Way Audio

  • Grant microphone permission in app
  • Tap and hold speak button in live view
  • Check phone volume is up
  • Verify camera speaker isn't muted

Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold reset button 10+ seconds
  2. LED will indicate reset
  3. Camera hub will remove all settings
  4. Re-add to Aqara Home app
  5. Note: Zigbee devices need re-pairing after reset

When to Contact Support

Contact Aqara support if:

  • Camera won't power on
  • Lens is damaged or foggy
  • Persistent connection failures
  • Hardware malfunction (motor, speaker)
