The Dreame X50 Ultra and Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni are premium robot vacuums with auto-empty stations and advanced cleaning features. This guide covers connectivity and cleaning issues.

Robot Not Connecting to WiFi

Symptoms

  • Setup fails in app
  • Robot voice says "connection failed"
  • Robot offline after initial setup

Solutions

  1. Use correct app - Dreame uses Dreamehome app; Ecovacs uses ECOVACS HOME app.
  2. 2.4GHz network only - Both robots require 2.4GHz WiFi, not 5GHz.
  3. Reset WiFi - For Dreame: hold Home + Power; for Ecovacs: hold Reset button.
  4. Router settings - Disable AP isolation and MAC filtering during setup.
  5. Dock position - Place dock near router initially for better setup signal.

Robot Not Cleaning Properly

Symptoms

  • Misses areas during cleaning
  • Gets stuck frequently
  • Poor suction/mopping

Solutions

  1. Map accuracy - Run a full clean cycle to build complete map. Don't interrupt first run.
  2. Clear obstacles - Remove cables, small objects, and low-hanging items that trap robot.
  3. Check brushes - Clean main brush and side brushes. Remove tangled hair and debris.
  4. Empty dustbin - Even with auto-empty, occasionally check and clean dustbin manually.
  5. Mopping pads - Replace dirty/worn mop pads. Wash reusable pads regularly.

Auto-Empty Station Issues

Symptoms

  • Station not emptying dustbin
  • Robot not docking properly
  • Loud noise from station

Solutions

  1. Check bag/container - Replace disposable bag or empty dust container in station.
  2. Clean dock sensors - Wipe charging contacts and sensors on both robot and dock.
  3. Align dock - Ensure dock is on flat surface with clear approach path.
  4. Check for clogs - Remove debris from suction channel between robot and station.

Self-Cleaning Mop Issues (X8/X50)

Symptoms

  • Mop pads not cleaned
  • Water tank not filling/draining
  • Hot water function not working

Solutions

  1. Check water tanks - Fill clean water tank and empty dirty water tank.
  2. Pump maintenance - Run cleaning cycle for station to clear pump blockages.
  3. Hot water - Hot air drying and hot water wash require water and power. Check both.
  4. Use correct water - Use clean tap water only. Don't add cleaning solution to tank.

Voice Control and Smart Home

Symptoms

  • Alexa/Google can't find robot
  • Voice commands not working
  • Integration disconnects

Solutions

  1. Link account - Enable Dreame or ECOVACS skill in your voice assistant app.
  2. Discover devices - After linking, discover devices in Alexa or Google Home.
  3. Re-link if needed - Unlink and re-link account if control stops working.
  4. Check robot online - Robot must be online for voice control to work.
