Eve Light Strip (Matter)

Common Symptoms

  • Strip not powering on
  • Colors not displaying correctly
  • Sections not lighting up
  • Not responding to Home app commands

Power Issues

  • Check power adapter connection
  • Verify outlet has power
  • Inspect connector between adapter and strip
  • Try different outlet

Color/Lighting Issues

  • Check color settings in Home app
  • Update firmware via Eve app
  • Reset strip if colors are wrong
  • Verify adaptive lighting settings if using

Partial Strip Failure

  • Check for damage or cuts in unlit section
  • Verify connection at any extension points
  • If cut, ensure cut was at designated marks

Matter Setup

  1. Eve Light Strip uses Matter over Thread
  2. Requires Thread border router (HomePod Mini, Apple TV 4K)
  3. Scan Matter QR code in Home app to add
  4. Can also add to Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings

Eve Outdoor Cam

Common Symptoms

  • Camera not recording motion
  • Live view not loading
  • Night vision not working
  • Floodlight not activating
  • HomeKit Secure Video issues

Live View Problems

  1. Check camera power (LED indicator)
  2. Verify WiFi connection strength
  3. Ensure Home hub is online for remote viewing
  4. Restart camera by power cycling

Recording Issues

HomeKit Secure Video

  • Requires iCloud+ subscription (200GB or 2TB)
  • Check Home Settings > Cameras
  • Verify recording is enabled for camera
  • Ensure motion detection is enabled

Motion Detection

  • Adjust activity zones in Home app
  • Check motion sensitivity settings
  • Verify notification settings

Floodlight Issues

  • Check floodlight settings in Home/Eve app
  • Verify auto mode is enabled for motion
  • Adjust brightness level
  • Check duration setting

Night Vision

  • Night vision activates automatically in low light
  • Verify IR LEDs are working (faint red glow visible)
  • Clean lens if image is hazy

WiFi Setup

  1. Camera connects via 2.4GHz WiFi
  2. Ensure strong signal at mounting location
  3. Test signal before permanent mount
  4. Consider WiFi extender if signal is weak

Reset Procedures

Eve Light Strip Reset

  1. Unplug the strip
  2. Wait 10 seconds
  3. Plug back in—strip should flash
  4. If no flash, hold reset button during power-on

Eve Outdoor Cam Reset

  1. Press and hold reset button for 10+ seconds
  2. LED will indicate reset
  3. Re-add in Home app

When to Contact Support

Contact Eve support if:

  • Hardware damage (water ingress, physical damage)
  • Camera lens fogging internally
  • Persistent connection failures
  • LED/floodlight hardware failure
