Eve Room monitors indoor air quality including VOCs, temperature, and humidity with HomeKit integration. This guide covers connectivity and measurement issues.

Sensor Not Pairing

Symptoms

  • Not found in Eve or Home app
  • Display works but won't pair
  • Bluetooth connection fails

Solutions

  1. Power on - Connect USB-C power cable to activate sensor.
  2. Enable Bluetooth - Eve Room pairs via Bluetooth initially.
  3. Stay close - Keep phone within 3 feet during pairing.
  4. Reset sensor - Hold button for 10 seconds until display shows reset confirmation.
  5. Use Eve app - Start setup in Eve app for guided pairing.

Air Quality Not Updating

Symptoms

  • VOC/air quality stuck
  • Readings don't change
  • "No Response" in Home app

Solutions

  1. Calibration period - VOC sensor needs time to calibrate. Allow 24-48 hours.
  2. Bluetooth range - Older models need Bluetooth connection. Stay within 30 feet of home hub.
  3. Thread network - Newer Eve Room uses Thread. Ensure Thread border router is online.
  4. Power check - Sensor needs continuous power for ongoing monitoring.

Readings Seem Inaccurate

Symptoms

  • Temperature off
  • Humidity doesn't match
  • Air quality always "Excellent"

Solutions

  1. Placement - Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts.
  2. Allow stabilization - After moving, let sensor stabilize for 30 minutes.
  3. Ventilation - Good ventilation will show better air quality. That may be accurate.
  4. Clean sensor - Dust can affect VOC sensor readings over time.

Display Issues

Symptoms

  • Display blank
  • Segments missing
  • Display dim

Solutions

  1. Power cable - Ensure USB-C cable is securely connected.
  2. Different adapter - Try a different USB power adapter.
  3. Brightness - Eve Room adjusts brightness automatically. May be dim in bright light.
  4. Factory reset - If display malfunctions, try factory reset.

HomeKit Automations

Symptoms

  • Automations not triggering
  • Sensors not available as triggers

Solutions

  1. Home Hub required - Automations need Apple TV or HomePod as hub.
  2. Trigger types - Use temperature, humidity, or air quality as automation conditions.
  3. Use Eve for complex - Eve app supports more sophisticated automations than Home app.
