Hunter SIMPLEconnect ceiling fans include WiFi control for fan speed and lights. This guide covers connectivity and control issues.

Fan Not Connecting to WiFi

Symptoms

  • Fan not found in app
  • WiFi setup fails
  • Light blinks but won't connect

Solutions

  1. Use Hunter app - Download SIMPLEconnect app for setup.
  2. 2.4GHz network - Only supports 2.4GHz WiFi.
  3. Pairing mode - Hold fan light button until light blinks rapidly.
  4. Power cycle - Turn off at wall switch, wait 30 seconds, turn on.
  5. Reset fan module - Some models have reset button on receiver.

Fan Speed Not Controlling

Symptoms

  • Speed commands ignored
  • Only off and high work
  • Fan runs at wrong speed

Solutions

  1. Speed levels - Verify fan supports the speed levels you're requesting.
  2. App control - Use app slider for precise speed control.
  3. Voice commands - "Set fan to low/medium/high" or percentage.
  4. Receiver issue - If unresponsive, check wiring to receiver module.

Light Control Issues

Symptoms

  • Light not responding
  • Dimming not working
  • Light and fan respond together

Solutions

  1. Separate control - Fan and light should be independently controllable.
  2. Dimmer compatibility - Some fan lights support dimming; others are on/off only.
  3. Bulb type - Use compatible bulbs as specified in fan documentation.
  4. App settings - Configure light settings in SIMPLEconnect app.

Voice Control

Symptoms

  • Alexa/Google can't find fan
  • Voice commands not understood
  • HomeKit not working

Solutions

  1. Link account - Enable Hunter SIMPLEconnect skill in Alexa or Google Home.
  2. Discover devices - After linking, discover new devices.
  3. HomeKit - HomeKit support requires HomeKit-compatible model.
  4. Name clearly - Use simple name like "Bedroom Fan".

Remote Control Conflicts

Symptoms

  • Physical remote interferes with WiFi control
  • Random speed changes
  • Neighbor's fan affecting yours

Solutions

  1. Frequency dip switches - Set unique frequency on receiver and remote.
  2. Use WiFi only - Consider not using RF remote if WiFi works.
  3. Separate frequencies - Ensure different frequency than neighbor's fan.
