IKEA Smart Blind Not Pairing or Moving

IKEA FYRTUR, KADRILJ, and PRAKTLYSING smart blinds use Zigbee for wireless control. This guide covers pairing and movement issues.

Blind Not Pairing

1. Requires DIRIGERA hub or compatible Zigbee hub
2. Reset blind: Hold both buttons until LED blinks
3. Put hub in pairing mode first
4. Keep blind near hub during pairing
5. Repeater may be needed for range

Blind Not Moving

1. Check battery pack is charged
2. Charge via USB-C (8+ hours for full)
3. Verify motor isn't at limit position
4. Recalibrate limits if stuck
5. Manual operation still works if paired

Signal Remote Setup

1. DIRIGERA hub required for remote
2. Pair remote to hub first
3. Assign blinds to remote in app
4. Can control multiple blinds together
5. Direct pairing bypasses hub

Repeater for Range

1. IKEA TRADFRI Repeater extends signal
2. Powered Zigbee devices also repeat
3. Place between hub and distant blinds
4. Multiple repeaters for large homes

Home Assistant Direct Pairing

1. Works with ZHA or Z2M without IKEA hub
2. Reset blind and enable permit join
3. Creates cover entity with position
4. Battery level entity available
5. Some features may differ from IKEA app

Position Calibration

1. Run full open then full close
2. Position percentages based on travel time
3. Recalibrate if position inaccurate
4. Set favorite position in app
5. Schedules for sunrise/sunset
