- Verify switch is always-on (not turned off)
- Check for dimmer switch (can cause issues)
3. Check Hub Status
- Verify DIRIGERA/Gateway is online
- Check LED on hub
- Ensure hub has internet connection
Pairing Issues
Factory Reset Bulb

- On 6th time, leave on for 5 seconds
- Bulb will flash indicating reset
- Now ready for pairing
Pairing to DIRIGERA
- Open IKEA Home Smart app
- Tap + to add device
- Select Lights category
- Reset bulb as described above
- App will discover bulb
Dimmer Switch Compatibility
Smart bulbs often have issues with dimmer switches:
- Smart bulbs have built-in dimming—external dimmer conflicts
- Replace dimmer with standard on/off switch
- Or use smart dimmer compatible with smart bulbs
- Flickering often indicates dimmer issue
Brightness/Color Issues
Not Changing Brightness
- Check command in IKEA Home Smart app
- Verify bulb is online
- Some bulbs are white-only (no color temp)
Color Temperature Not Working
- Verify bulb model supports tunable white
- Some models are warm white only
- Check product specifications
Zigbee Mesh Optimization
Improve Connection
- Smart bulbs act as Zigbee repeaters
- Add more bulbs to strengthen mesh
- Place bulbs between hub and distant devices
- Don't put hub behind TV or in cabinet
Interference
- Keep hub away from USB 3.0 devices
- WiFi and Zigbee share 2.4GHz—can interfere
- Change Zigbee channel if problems persist
Thread Bulbs Specific
Thread Network
- Requires DIRIGERA hub with Thread
- Thread bulbs act as mesh routers
- More bulbs = better Thread coverage
Matter Setup
- Thread bulbs can be shared via Matter
- Add to other ecosystems (HomeKit, Google)
- Use sharing code from IKEA app
Remote Control Binding
TRADFRI remote can control bulbs directly:
- Put bulb close to remote
- Hold remote pairing button
- Bulb will flash when paired
- Remote now controls bulb directly
