Lock Won't Connect

Pairing issues:

  • Battery: Install fresh batteries before pairing
  • Hub required: Many locks need hub for full features
  • Bluetooth range: Bluetooth locks need phone nearby
  • WiFi bridge: Some need WiFi bridge for remote access
  • Factory reset: Reset lock before pairing to new system

Codes Not Working

When PIN codes fail:

  • Code programmed: Verify code is saved in lock
  • User active: Check user account is enabled
  • Schedule: Code may have time restrictions
  • Limit reached: Check if code attempt limit hit
  • Touchscreen: Clean keypad surface

Lock Won't Lock/Unlock

Mechanical issues:

  • Door alignment: Door and frame must align properly
  • Deadbolt: Deadbolt should move freely manually
  • Strike plate: Adjust strike plate if binding
  • Battery: Low battery can prevent operation
  • Calibration: Run lock calibration routine

Auto-Lock Issues

When auto-lock doesn't work:

  • Feature enabled: Enable auto-lock in app
  • Time setting: Set appropriate delay time
  • Door sensor: Some need door sensor for auto-lock
  • DoorSense: Calibrate door position sensor

Remote Access

For accessing lock away from home:

  • WiFi required: Most need WiFi connection for remote
  • Bridge: Some need separate WiFi bridge
  • Hub: Z-Wave/Zigbee locks need hub for remote
  • Subscription: Some features may require subscription

Battery Life

Maximizing battery life:

  • Quality batteries: Use name-brand alkaline or lithium
  • WiFi impact: WiFi features drain battery faster
  • Activity: More usage = shorter battery life
  • Low battery alert: Replace when warned
