The SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus is a Zigbee coordinator that transforms any computer or single-board device into a Zigbee hub. Based on the Texas Instruments CC2652P chip with an external antenna, this dongle provides excellent range and supports hundreds of connected Zigbee devices. It's the foundation for DIY smart home setups using Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, or other open-source platforms.

The external antenna significantly improves range compared to PCB antennas found in cheaper coordinators, reliably covering large homes and reaching devices in challenging locations. The dongle supports the full Zigbee 3.0 specification and is backward compatible with older Zigbee devices. Pre-flashed with coordinator firmware, it works immediately with popular software without additional configuration.

This dongle is primarily designed for Home Assistant users seeking local, cloud-free Zigbee control. Through Home Assistant's ZHA integration or Zigbee2MQTT, it can control virtually any Zigbee device from any manufacturer. While it doesn't directly integrate with commercial ecosystems like Alexa or Google Home, devices connected through Home Assistant can be exposed to these platforms through Home Assistant's cloud or local integrations.
