What's in the Box
Your GE Profile Smart 4-Door Refrigerator with AI arrives with adjustable shelving, a full-width deli drawer, humidity-controlled crisper drawers, a convertible temperature zone drawer, and a freezer compartment. The built-in AI features use internal cameras and machine learning to help manage food inventory and suggest recipes. Smart connectivity is built into the unit and connects through the SmartHQ app for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and AI-powered food management.
Before You Begin
- Download the SmartHQ app from the App Store or Google Play
- Create or sign into your SmartHQ account
- Confirm your kitchen has a 2.4GHz WiFi network
- Verify the delivery path is wide enough for the refrigerator — measure doorways, hallways, and the installation space
- Have a water supply line with a shutoff valve ready if connecting the ice maker and water dispenser
- Ensure a dedicated, grounded 120V outlet is accessible behind the refrigerator
Physical Setup
- Position the refrigerator. Slide the unit into its designated space. Leave at least one inch of clearance on the sides, top, and rear for proper airflow. Adjust the front leveling legs so the refrigerator is level and the doors close properly under their own weight.
- Connect the water supply. Attach the water supply line to the inlet valve at the rear of the refrigerator. Tighten the connection and turn on the water valve. Inspect for leaks at every connection point. Allow the water system to fill and produce ice — the first batch or two of ice should be discarded.
- Power on. Plug the refrigerator into a grounded 120V outlet. Avoid extension cords. Allow the unit to run for 24 hours to reach its target temperatures before loading food.
- Organize the compartments. Adjust shelving heights to fit your needs. Set the convertible temperature zone to the appropriate setting for what you plan to store — options typically include deli, beverage, snack, and freezer modes.
WiFi and SmartHQ Setup
- Activate WiFi on the refrigerator. On the control panel display, navigate to the Connected Home or WiFi settings. Press and hold the WiFi button until the indicator begins blinking, entering pairing mode.
- Open the SmartHQ app. Tap Add Appliance and choose your GE Profile 4-Door Refrigerator model. Scan the connected appliance QR code found on the inside of the door or on the data plate.
- Enter WiFi credentials. Select your 2.4GHz network and type your password. The refrigerator connects within about a minute.
- Confirm and explore. Once connected, the SmartHQ app displays real-time temperature readings, filter status, and door alerts. Explore the AI features, including the internal camera view that lets you check what's inside the fridge from anywhere.
AI Features and Smart Integration
The AI-powered internal cameras capture images of your refrigerator's contents each time the door closes. The SmartHQ app uses this data to track food inventory and suggest recipes based on what's available. You'll also receive expiration reminders and shopping list suggestions. Link your SmartHQ account to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for voice access to temperature settings, filter alerts, and door-open notifications. The app's diagnostic tools can read error codes and guide you through troubleshooting steps remotely.
Quick Troubleshooting
If the refrigerator won't connect to WiFi, make sure the WiFi indicator is flashing and your phone is on a 2.4GHz network. If the AI camera images aren't updating in the app, verify the WiFi connection is stable and restart the SmartHQ app. If the ice maker doesn't produce ice within 24 hours of water line connection, check that the water supply valve is fully open and the ice maker is turned on from the control panel. If temperatures seem off, give the unit a full day to stabilize after the initial setup or after extended door-open periods.
