Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Assemble feeder: Attach food hopper to base. Insert bowl.
  2. Connect power: Plug in power adapter. Optionally add D batteries for backup.
  3. Download PetSafe app: Install and create an account.
  4. Add feeder: Tap "+" and select Smart Feed 2nd Gen.
  5. Enable WiFi setup: Press and hold WiFi button until light flashes.
  6. Connect to network: Select 2.4GHz network and enter password.
  7. Fill with food: Add dry kibble to hopper. Holds up to 24 cups.
  8. Create pet profile: Enter pet's name and feeding requirements.
  9. Set feeding schedule: Create up to 12 meals per day with portion sizes.
  10. Test feeding: Dispense a test meal to verify operation.
