Step-by-Step Setup
- Plug in the device: Insert the Tapo P125M into a wall outlet. The LED indicator will start blinking.
- Choose setup method: You can set up via Matter (recommended) or through the Tapo app.
- For Matter setup: Open your Matter controller app (Apple Home, Google Home, etc.).
- Add device: Tap "+" → "Add Device" or "Add Accessory."
- Scan Matter code: Find the QR code on the plug or packaging and scan it.
- Connect to network: The plug will connect to your Wi-Fi via your Matter controller.
- Assign room: Place the plug in the appropriate room.
- For Tapo app setup: Download Tapo app, create an account, tap "+", and select P125M.
- Configure settings: Set schedules, timers, and away mode as desired.

Troubleshooting
- LED not blinking: Unplug and plug back in. Press and hold the button for 5 seconds to reset.
- Matter pairing fails: Ensure your Matter controller supports Wi-Fi devices. Move closer to router. Verify 2.4GHz is available.
- Device offline: Check Wi-Fi connection. Power cycle the plug. Remove and re-add if persistent.
- Can't control from one platform: Matter allows multi-admin—add the device to each platform using the app's sharing feature.
- Physical button not working: The button toggles power. If unresponsive, try factory reset (hold 10 seconds).
