Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Plug in the device: Insert the WiZ smart plug into a wall outlet. The LED will start blinking.
  2. Open Matter controller: Use Apple Home, Google Home, SmartThings, or another Matter-compatible app.
  3. Add device: Tap "+" to add a new accessory.
  4. Scan Matter code: Locate the QR code on the plug or packaging and scan it.
  5. Wait for pairing: The plug will connect to your Wi-Fi network via the Matter controller.
  6. Assign room: Place the plug in the appropriate room for organization.
  7. Name the plug: Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Living Room Lamp").
  8. Test operation: Turn on/off via app and physical button.
  9. Set schedules: Configure timers and schedules as desired.

Troubleshooting

  • LED not blinking: Unplug and replug. Press and hold the button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.
  • Matter pairing fails: Ensure 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Move closer to router during setup. Try resetting the plug.
  • Plug offline: Check Wi-Fi connection. Power cycle the plug. Remove and re-add to the system.
  • Physical button unresponsive: Try pressing firmly. If still unresponsive, factory reset and re-pair.
  • Schedule not triggering: Verify time zone settings in your controller app. Check that the plug is online.
