What's in the Box

Your Bosch 300 Series Smart Dishwasher arrives with the appliance unit, an adjustable upper rack, a silverware basket, inlet and drain hoses, a power cord, mounting brackets for under-counter installation, and a quick-start guide. Verify all parts are present and undamaged before beginning installation. Keep the packaging materials until you confirm the unit operates correctly.

Prerequisites

Before installing your Bosch 300 Series Smart Dishwasher, ensure your kitchen meets these requirements:

  • A dedicated 120V, 15-amp electrical circuit with a grounded outlet or junction box near the dishwasher location
  • A hot water supply line with a shut-off valve under the sink
  • A drain connection — either a high loop under the counter or an air gap fitting at the sink
  • The cabinet opening measures at least 24 inches wide, 24 inches deep, and 34 inches tall
  • Your home Wi-Fi network operates on the 2.4 GHz band
  • The Bosch Home Connect app is installed on your smartphone (available for iOS and Android)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Prepare the space: Turn off the water supply valve and disconnect power to the circuit where the dishwasher will be installed. If replacing an old dishwasher, carefully slide it out and disconnect the water, drain, and electrical connections.
  2. Connect the water supply: Attach the included inlet hose to the hot water shut-off valve under the sink. Use plumber's tape on threaded connections and tighten securely but avoid over-tightening, which can crack fittings.
  3. Connect the drain hose: Route the drain hose to your sink's drain connection or garbage disposal inlet. Ensure the hose makes a high loop (secured at least 20 inches above the floor) to prevent backflow. Clamp the hose to the disposal or tailpiece connection.
  4. Make the electrical connection: Depending on your setup, connect the power cord to the grounded outlet or wire the dishwasher directly into the junction box following local electrical codes. Ensure the ground wire is properly connected.
  5. Slide the dishwasher into place: Carefully push the unit into the cabinet opening, feeding the hoses and power cord through without kinking. Use the adjustable front legs to level the dishwasher and ensure a snug fit under the counter.
  6. Secure the unit: Attach the mounting brackets to the underside of the countertop or the sides of the cabinet using the provided screws. This prevents the dishwasher from tipping when the door is opened.
  7. Test for leaks: Turn the water supply back on and restore power. Run a short rinse cycle and check all water connections for leaks. Tighten any fittings as needed.

App Pairing and Wi-Fi Setup

With the dishwasher powered on, press and hold the Home Connect button on the dishwasher control panel (the Wi-Fi icon) until the indicator light blinks. Open the Bosch Home Connect app on your phone, sign in or create an account, and tap "Add New Appliance." Select "Dishwasher" and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the unit to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The app will search for the dishwasher's temporary Wi-Fi signal — connect to it when prompted, then enter your home network credentials. Once paired, the Home Connect light on the dishwasher will turn solid.

Smart Home Integration Tips

Once connected through the Bosch Home Connect app, your dishwasher can be controlled with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Link your Home Connect account in the Alexa or Google Home app to start and monitor cycles by voice. The app also provides real-time cycle status, push notifications when a cycle completes, and the ability to download specialty wash programs. Consider setting up a routine that sends you a notification when the cycle finishes so you can unload promptly and prevent odors.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the dishwasher does not connect to Wi-Fi, make sure you are using a 2.4 GHz network and that the dishwasher is within reasonable range of your router. A reset of the Home Connect module can be done by holding the Home Connect button for 10 seconds. If the dishwasher displays an error code like E15 (water in the base), turn off the unit, check for leaks, and tilt it slightly forward to drain any standing water from the base pan. Contact Bosch customer support if errors persist after basic troubleshooting.
