What's in the Box

Your LG WashCombo All-in-One Washer Dryer comes with inlet hoses (hot and cold), a drain hose, hose connection hardware, stacking kit (if applicable), leveling legs, and user documentation. Some models include a small container of test detergent. This all-in-one unit handles both washing and drying in a single drum, eliminating the need for a separate dryer. Verify all components are present and inspect the unit for any shipping damage before installation.

Prerequisites

The WashCombo requires a dedicated 240V electrical outlet or a standard 120V outlet depending on your model, plus hot and cold water supply connections with shut-off valves. You'll also need a drain standpipe or laundry sink within the drain hose's reach. Ensure the installation area has a flat, sturdy floor, as vibration increases significantly on uneven surfaces. Measure doorways and the installation space carefully. Remove the shipping bolts from the rear of the unit before operation. Download the LG ThinQ app before beginning setup.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Remove all shipping bolts from the back of the unit using the included wrench. There are typically four bolts securing the drum for transport. Insert the provided hole covers into the bolt holes. Failure to remove shipping bolts will cause excessive vibration and potential damage.
  2. Position the WashCombo in its installation location. Adjust the four leveling legs until the unit is perfectly level in both directions. An unlevel machine will vibrate, walk across the floor, and produce excessive noise during spin cycles.
  3. Connect the hot water inlet hose to the hot water supply valve and the cold water inlet hose to the cold water supply. Hand-tighten first, then snug with pliers. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks at all connections.
  4. Position the drain hose into the standpipe or laundry sink. The drain hose should be secured at a height between 24 and 46 inches from the floor. Do not push the hose more than six inches into the standpipe to avoid siphoning.
  5. Plug the unit into the appropriate electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord or power strip.
  6. Run an empty test cycle using the Tub Clean setting to flush out any manufacturing residue. Add a washing machine cleaner tablet or a small amount of bleach.

Pairing with the LG ThinQ App

Open the LG ThinQ app and sign in with your LG account. Tap the "+" icon and select "Washer/Dryer" from the appliance list. On the WashCombo's control panel, press and hold the WiFi button for three seconds until the WiFi indicator begins flashing. Select your home 2.4GHz WiFi network in the app and enter your password. Once connected, you can start and monitor cycles remotely, download additional wash programs, receive cycle completion notifications, and troubleshoot issues using Smart Diagnosis.

Smart Home Integration Tips

Connect your LG ThinQ account to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for voice commands like "Alexa, start the washer" or "Hey Google, how much time is left on the dryer?" The ThinQ app also lets you download specialized wash cycles for specific fabric types that aren't available on the control panel by default. Set up push notifications so you know exactly when your laundry is done. Since this is an all-in-one unit, cycle times are longer than separate machines. Plan loads accordingly by using the ThinQ app's delayed start feature to time cycles around your schedule.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the unit vibrates excessively, confirm the shipping bolts are removed and the leveling legs are properly adjusted. Place the unit on a solid, non-flexing floor. If it won't connect to WiFi, ensure your network is 2.4GHz and power-cycle the unit by unplugging for 30 seconds. If the dryer function isn't drying clothes fully, clean the lint filter and drain pump filter, and ensure the unit has adequate ventilation space. For persistent error codes, use the Smart Diagnosis feature in the ThinQ app by pressing the Smart Diagnosis button on the control panel and holding your phone near the speaker.
