The Amazon Echo Spot (2024) revives the compact smart alarm clock concept with a modern 2.83-inch round display, improved audio, and contemporary design. Unlike the original Echo Spot which included a camera, this version focuses on clock and music display without video calling—a deliberate privacy choice.

The circular display shows customizable clock faces, music visualizations, weather, and Alexa responses. Multiple clock face designs range from analog to digital with various styles to match room décor. The vibrant display adjusts brightness automatically based on ambient light conditions for comfortable viewing day and night.

A front-firing speaker delivers surprisingly full audio for the compact size, suitable for alarm tones, music, and Alexa responses. Bluetooth streaming enables music playback from mobile devices. WiFi connectivity powers Alexa functionality including smart home control, timers, and information queries.

This Echo Spot does not include built-in Zigbee, Thread, or Matter hubs—direct device pairing requires a separate compatible hub. The intentional omission of a camera differentiates the 2024 Spot from smart displays, positioning it as a private bedside companion. Tap-to-snooze and gradual alarm features make it an effective smart alarm clock replacement.
