The Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) is a 7-inch smart display combining Google Assistant, sleep tracking, and smart home control hub functionality. The Thread border router enables Matter-over-Thread device support, making this an effective central controller for modern smart homes.

The 7-inch touchscreen displays weather, calendar, photos, video, recipes, and smart home controls. Ambient EQ automatically adjusts color temperature to match room lighting. The built-in speaker provides clear audio for Assistant responses, music, and alarm sounds.

Thread border router capability supports Matter-over-Thread devices, extending your Thread mesh network. WiFi connectivity handles Matter-over-WiFi devices and all Google Home cloud functions. The combination provides comprehensive smart home hub functionality without separate hardware.

The improved sleep tracking uses Motion Sense radar to monitor sleep quality without wearing devices—just place the Nest Hub on your nightstand. Sunrise alarms gradually brighten the display to wake you gently. Google Assistant manages daily routines, controls compatible devices, and answers questions. Note that this model does not include a camera.
