The Johnson Controls GLAS Smart Thermostat features a distinctive translucent OLED touchscreen design that elegantly displays climate information and controls while allowing your wall color to show through. Note that this product has been discontinued by Johnson Controls, though the thermostat continues to function and receive customer support. The GLAS works with conventional single-stage systems up to 2H/2C and heat pumps up to 2H/2C/2 Aux Heat, powered by 24VAC with an optional power extender kit if no C-wire is available.

A standout feature is comprehensive air quality monitoring with built-in sensors for relative humidity, total Volatile Organic Compounds (tVOCs), and equivalent CO2 levels indoors. The system also reports outdoor air quality including allergen levels, air quality index, and UV index, making it particularly valuable for allergy and asthma sufferers. Smart Circulation and Smart Ventilation modes provide enhanced control over indoor air quality beyond basic heating and cooling.

The GLAS integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control and connects via WiFi for remote access through the GLAS by JCI mobile app. While the app will no longer receive feature updates, current functionality remains intact. Programming options include weekly schedules, home/away modes, and vacation settings accessible from both the thermostat and app. The sleek, modern design won a CES Innovation Award and brings a distinctive aesthetic to any room.
