The SmartThings Hub v3 is Samsung's comprehensive smart home hub supporting Zigbee, Z-Wave, and WiFi devices for unified control through the SmartThings platform. The hub serves as the central controller for SmartThings ecosystems, enabling automation, scenes, and integration with voice assistants and third-party platforms.

Dual radios for Zigbee 3.0 and Z-Wave Plus enable direct connection to thousands of compatible sensors, switches, locks, and other devices without additional bridges. WiFi connectivity links cloud-connected devices while Matter support enables control of Matter-certified accessories.

The SmartThings app provides comprehensive device management, automation creation, and monitoring across all connected devices regardless of protocol. Create sophisticated routines triggered by time, location, device events, or voice commands. Integration with Alexa, Google, and Bixby enables voice control.

The compact design with Ethernet connectivity sits anywhere near your router. Note that Samsung has transitioned to partnering with Aeotec for current SmartThings hubs—the Hub v3 represents the last Samsung-branded model before this transition. Existing Hub v3 units continue to receive software support and function fully.
