The Aqara Motion Sensor P1 is a professional-grade PIR motion detector designed for comprehensive smart home security and automation. Featuring an extra-wide field of view of 170 degrees for detection up to 2 meters and 150 degrees for detection up to 7 meters, the P1 provides exceptional coverage for monitoring rooms, hallways, and entry points. The sensor includes three adjustable sensitivity modes (high, medium, and low) that control the detection distance, helping to reduce false alarms in environments with pets or varying levels of activity.

One of the P1's most impressive features is its exceptional 5-year battery life, achieved with two CR2450 coin batteries when the LED indication function is turned off and detection timeout is set to 30 seconds or more. The configurable detection timeout can be adjusted from 1 to 200 seconds in the Aqara Home app, allowing users to fine-tune the sensor's behavior for different use cases from rapid security monitoring to energy-saving lighting automation. The sensor also includes a built-in light sensor for creating more intelligent automations that consider ambient illumination.

Operating across a wide temperature range of -10 to 55 degrees Celsius with humidity tolerance up to 95% RH, the P1 is suitable for various indoor environments including unheated spaces. The sensor requires an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub for full functionality and is not compatible with third-party Zigbee hubs. It's important to note that while the P1 has a built-in light sensor, this functionality is not exposed to Apple HomeKit and cannot be triggered separately from the motion sensor in that ecosystem.
