Step-by-Step Setup

Check door compatibility: Verify door thickness (1-3/8" to 2") and backset (2-3/8" or 2-3/4").
Remove existing deadbolt: Unscrew and remove your current lock from both sides.
Install the latch: Insert the new latch. Adjust backset if needed.
Mount exterior assembly: Insert from outside, including the palm vein sensor.
Mount interior assembly: Attach from inside and secure with screws.
Insert batteries: Install 4 AA batteries in the interior unit.
Download U-tec app: Install on your smartphone.
Create account: Sign up for U-tec.
Add lock: Tap "+" and select Bolt Sense. Follow Bluetooth pairing.
Register palm vein: Place hand on sensor following app prompts. Register multiple times for accuracy.
Register face (optional): Enroll facial recognition through the app.
Add WiFi bridge (optional): For remote access, pair the WiFi bridge.
Connect to Matter: Generate Matter code in app and add to your smart home platform.

Palm vein not recognized: Re-register in different lighting. Keep hand steady.
Facial recognition failing: Ensure good lighting at door. Re-enroll face.
Lock not responding: Check battery level. Replace if low.
Matter not connecting: Ensure WiFi bridge is connected for Matter support.
