What You'll Need
- Amcrest 4MP ProHD PTZ Camera
- PoE+ switch or compatible power adapter
- Ethernet cable (included)
- Smartphone with Amcrest View app
- Mounting hardware (included)
- Drill and appropriate bits for your mounting surface
Step 1: Plan Your Installation
Choose a mounting location that provides a clear view of the area you want to monitor. Ensure the mounting surface can support at least 3 times the weight of the camera. For outdoor installations, verify the location is weather-protected or use appropriate weatherproofing.
Step 2: Mount the Camera
Use the included template to mark drill holes. Install the wall mount bracket using the provided screws and anchors. For added security, attach the included safety chain/carabiner. Connect the camera to the mount and secure all connections.
Step 3: Connect Power and Network
PoE+ Connection (Recommended): Connect the Ethernet cable from your PoE+ switch directly to the camera. The single cable provides both power and network connectivity.
Separate Power: If not using PoE+, connect the power adapter to the camera's power input and use the Ethernet cable for network only.
Step 4: Find the Camera on Your Network
Download and install the Amcrest IP Config tool from amcrest.com/support on your computer. Run the tool to discover your camera's IP address on the network. Note this IP address for web access configuration.
Step 5: Set Up the Mobile App
Download the Amcrest View app on your smartphone (iOS or Android). Create an account or sign in. Tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Scan the QR code on the camera or enter the device's serial number manually. Follow the prompts to complete setup.
Step 6: Configure PTZ Settings
Access the camera through the web interface or app to configure:
- Preset Positions: Save specific pan/tilt/zoom positions for quick access
- Patrol Routes: Create automated patrol sequences between presets
- Motion Tracking: Enable auto-tracking to follow detected motion
Features
- 4MP Resolution: Crystal clear 2K video quality
