How to Set Up Your Anova Precision Cooker Pro

What You'll Need

  • Anova Precision Cooker Pro
  • Pot or container at least 4.25 inches (11cm) deep
  • Smartphone with Anova Culinary app (iOS 9.0+ or Android 4.4+)
  • Wi-Fi network

Step 1: Unbox and Inspect

Remove the Precision Cooker Pro from packaging. The unit includes the cooker with built-in clamp and the stainless steel skirt already attached.

Step 2: Download the App

Download the Anova Culinary app from your device's app store. Create an account or sign in. If you previously used a different Anova cooker, go to Settings and disconnect it before adding the Pro.

Step 3: Attach to Container

Fill your pot or container with water. Attach the Precision Cooker Pro to the side by loosening the side knob, positioning the clamp over the edge, and tightening. Ensure the cooker stands straight and the water level is between the MIN and MAX lines.

Step 4: Connect via App

Open the Anova app and follow the prompts to add your Precision Cooker Pro. The app will guide you through connecting the device to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 5: Set Temperature and Time

Use the touchscreen interface or app to set your desired temperature and cooking time:

  • Press the Target Temperature button, then use +/- to adjust
  • Press the Timer button, then use +/- to set duration
  • Press Start to begin cooking

Cleaning and Maintenance

To remove the skirt for cleaning: Grasp the stainless steel skirt and gently twist clockwise to unlock. To reinstall: Slide the skirt over the components, align the dots with the grooves, and twist counter-clockwise to lock.

Troubleshooting

  • Not heating: Check water level is above MIN line; ensure power connection is secure
  • Temperature fluctuating: Use a larger container or add a lid to reduce heat loss
  • App won't connect: Ensure both phone and cooker are on same Wi-Fi network
  • Error codes: Unplug for 30 seconds, check water level, and restart
