The Aqara LED Bulb T1 Tunable White is a Zigbee-connected smart bulb that lets you adjust brightness and color temperature from warm to cool white through the Aqara Home app. It works with your Aqara Hub and integrates with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home for voice control and automation.

What You Will Need

  • Aqara LED Bulb T1 Tunable White
  • A light fixture with a standard E27 (or E26) socket
  • Aqara Hub (M2, M3, or Camera Hub G3) already set up on your network
  • Aqara Home app installed on your smartphone (iOS or Android)

Installing the Bulb

  1. Turn off the light switch controlling the fixture where you plan to install the bulb.
  2. If there is an existing bulb in the fixture, wait for it to cool down, then unscrew and remove it.
  3. Screw the Aqara LED Bulb T1 into the socket, turning clockwise until snug. Do not over-tighten.
  4. Turn the light switch back on. The bulb should illuminate, indicating it has power.

Pairing with Your Aqara Hub

  1. Open the Aqara Home app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the + icon in the upper-right corner to add a new device.
  3. Select LED Bulb T1 from the lighting category, or scan the QR code on the bulb's packaging.
  4. Choose the Aqara Hub you want to pair this bulb with.
  5. To put the bulb into pairing mode, turn the light switch off and on five times in rapid succession (off-on counts as one cycle). The bulb will begin blinking to indicate it is in pairing mode.
  6. Wait for the Aqara Home app to discover and connect to the bulb. This usually takes 10 to 30 seconds.
  7. Once paired, assign the bulb to a room and give it a name like "Bedroom Lamp" or "Desk Light."

Adjusting Brightness and Color Temperature

After pairing, you can control the bulb from the Aqara Home app:

  • Brightness — Use the brightness slider to adjust from 1% to 100%. Lower brightness levels work well for nighttime ambiance.
  • Color Temperature — Slide between warm white (2700K, similar to traditional incandescent bulbs) and cool daylight (6500K, ideal for task lighting and focus). Mid-range temperatures around 4000K work well for general use.

Setting Up Automations

Smart lighting truly shines when combined with automations. Here are practical examples you can create in the Aqara Home app:

  • Wake-up routine — Gradually increase brightness and shift to cool white at your alarm time to simulate sunrise.
  • Motion-activated lighting — Pair with an Aqara Motion Sensor to turn the bulb on when someone enters the room and off after a period of inactivity.
  • Evening wind-down — Automatically shift to warm white and lower brightness at a scheduled time in the evening.
  • Door-triggered light — Use an Aqara Door and Window Sensor to turn on a hallway or closet light when the door opens.

To create an automation, go to the Automations tab, tap +, define your trigger condition, and select the bulb as the action device with your desired brightness and color temperature settings.

Important Notes About Smart Bulbs and Switches

The physical light switch controlling this bulb must remain in the on position at all times for smart features to work. If someone turns off the wall switch, the bulb loses power and cannot be controlled through the app or voice assistants. Consider these solutions:

  • Place a switch guard over the physical switch to prevent accidental toggling.
  • Use an Aqara Wireless Mini Switch or Opple Remote mounted near the physical switch as a smart replacement for daily control.
  • Replace the wall switch with an Aqara Smart Wall Switch to maintain both smart and physical control.

Tips

  • If the bulb becomes unresponsive, reset it by toggling the light switch off and on five times rapidly. Then re-pair it in the app.
  • The bulb acts as a Zigbee router, helping to extend the range of your Zigbee network to nearby sensors.
  • Group multiple bulbs in the Aqara Home app to control them simultaneously from a single tile.
