  • Smartphone with Awair Home app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz not supported)
  • USB power adapter and cable (included)
  • Bluetooth enabled on phone

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Download Awair App: Install the Awair Home app from the App Store or Google Play and create an account.
  2. Plug In Device: Connect the Awair Element to power using the included USB cable and adapter. Wait for the status indicator light to pulse blue.
  3. Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone for initial pairing.
  4. Add Device: In the Awair app, tap the (+) button in the top right corner. The app will search for your Element via Bluetooth.
  5. Pair via Bluetooth: Select your Awair Element when it appears. The status light will turn purple once Bluetooth pairing is complete.
  6. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password. The device will connect to your network.
  7. Name Your Device: Give your Awair Element a name and specify which room it will monitor.
  8. Complete Setup: Set your health interests and preferences. The device will begin monitoring air quality.

Troubleshooting

  • Light not pulsing blue: Power cycle the device by unplugging for 20 seconds, then reconnect.
  • Bluetooth not finding device: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Force close and reopen the Awair app.
  • Wi-Fi connection fails: Verify you're using a 2.4GHz network, not 5GHz. Check your password is correct.
  • VOC readings seem off: The VOC sensor needs 24-48 hours to fully calibrate after initial setup.
  • Display shows gear icon: Calibration is in progress. Wait for it to complete before relying on readings.
