Carrier Infinity Touch Thermostat
Compatible Carrier Infinity HVAC system
22 AWG or larger thermostat wire
Screwdriver
Smartphone with Carrier Infinity app
Wi-Fi network name and password

Step 1: Choose the Location

Mount approximately 5 feet from the floor on an interior wall. Avoid locations near windows, outside doors, direct sunlight, supply registers, or areas with poor air circulation. The thermostat needs good airflow to accurately read room temperature.

Step 2: Turn Off Power

Turn off power to your HVAC equipment at the circuit breaker. Remove your existing thermostat and take a photo of the wiring for reference.

Step 3: Install the Mounting Plate

Route the thermostat wires through the large hole in the mounting plate. Level the plate against the wall (for aesthetics) and mark the two mounting hole locations. Drill holes and secure the mounting plate using the included screws and anchors.

Step 4: Connect the Wiring

Connect the thermostat wires to the appropriate terminals on the backplate according to the wiring diagrams. Seal the hole in the wall to prevent air leaks that could affect temperature readings. Push excess wire back into the wall.

Step 5: Attach the Thermostat

Line up the guides on the back of the thermostat with the mounting plate opening and push to attach. Restore power to your HVAC system.

Step 6: Initial Configuration

The thermostat will power on and guide you through initial setup. Use the touchscreen to configure basic settings and follow the commissioning wizard to connect system components.

Step 7: Connect to Wi-Fi

From the home screen, tap Menu. Navigate to the Wireless icon, tap Enabled, then choose "Setup a Wi-Fi Connection." Tap "Scan for Available Access Points," select your network, and enter your password.

Step 8: Set Up the App

Download the Carrier Infinity app on your smartphone. Create an account and follow the prompts to link your thermostat for remote control and monitoring.

Operating Modes

Cool: Air conditioning only
Heat: Heating only
Auto: Automatically switches between heating and cooling
Fan Only: Air circulation without heating or cooling

Troubleshooting

Blank screen: Check power at breaker; verify wiring connections
Won't connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure you're connecting to 2.4GHz network; check password
Incorrect temperature: Verify no heat sources nearby; check for drafts
Service menu access: Menu > Options > scroll down > press and hold Service icon for 10 seconds
