  • GE Cync A19 Smart Bulb (Matter version)

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Turn off fixture: Ensure the light fixture is powered off.
  2. Install the bulb: Screw the Cync A19 into the E26 socket.
  3. Turn on power: Switch on the fixture. The bulb will illuminate and enter pairing mode.
  4. Reset if needed: If previously paired, turn off/on 5 times quickly to reset.
  5. Open Matter controller: Apple Home, Google Home, or compatible app.
  6. Add device: Tap "+" to add a new accessory.
  7. Scan Matter code: Find the QR code on the bulb packaging and scan it.
  8. Wait for pairing: The bulb connects via Wi-Fi.
  9. Assign room: Place in the appropriate room.
  10. Test controls: Dim and turn on/off via app.

Troubleshooting

  • Bulb not in pairing mode: Turn off/on 5 times with 1-second intervals to reset. Bulb should flash when ready.
  • Matter code not working: Use code from packaging only. Try entering numeric code manually.
  • Bulb offline frequently: Check Wi-Fi signal at fixture location. Ensure router supports 2.4GHz.
  • Dimming issues: Don't use physical dimmer switches—control via app only. Smart bulbs need constant power.
  • Color temperature not changing: Basic models are soft white only. Tunable white models support temperature adjustment.
