What You'll Need
- GE Cync Smart Dimmer Switch (Matter version)
- Neutral wire (required)
- Dimmable light bulbs

- Smartphone with Cync app or controller app
- Screwdriver, wire strippers, voltage tester
Step-by-Step Setup
- Turn off power: Switch off the circuit breaker. Verify with voltage tester.
- Remove existing switch: Unscrew faceplate and switch. Document existing wire connections.
- Identify wires: Locate line (hot), load, neutral, and ground wires.
- Connect Cync dimmer:
- Line → Hot from panel
- Load → Wire to light fixture
- Neutral → Neutral bundle
- Ground → Ground wire
- Mount the dimmer: Install in electrical box and attach faceplate.
- Restore power: Turn on circuit breaker. The dimmer LED should illuminate.
- Enter pairing mode: Press and hold until LED blinks rapidly.
- Open Matter controller: Add device and scan the Matter QR code.
- Complete setup: Assign room and configure settings.
- Calibrate dimming: Set minimum brightness level to prevent LED flicker.

Troubleshooting
- LEDs flickering: Ensure bulbs are dimmable. Adjust minimum brightness in app. Try different LED bulb brand.
- Not powering on: Verify all connections, especially neutral wire. Check circuit breaker is on.
- Pairing fails: Ensure dimmer is in pairing mode (rapid blinking). Use 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Factory reset if needed.
- Buzzing sound: Common with some LED loads. Try different dimmable bulbs. Check for loose wire connections.
- Minimum brightness too high: Adjust dim range calibration in the Cync app settings.
