What's in the Box
The eufy Security eufyCam 3C package includes the camera unit (or multiple units in multi-camera kits), the eufy HomeBase 3 (S380), an Ethernet cable, a HomeBase power adapter, a magnetic mounting bracket, screws and wall anchors, a USB-C charging cable, and a quick-start guide. The eufyCam 3C is the more budget-friendly sibling of the eufyCam 3, offering 4K resolution, BionicMind AI, and local storage on the HomeBase 3 while omitting the integrated solar panel — so you will need to charge it manually or use a separate eufy solar panel accessory.
Prerequisites
Download the eufy Security app and sign in or create an account. The eufyCam 3C requires the HomeBase 3 (S380) for operation. Ensure you have an available Ethernet port on your router and a power outlet for the HomeBase. Fully charge the camera via USB-C before mounting — a full charge takes about three hours and provides several months of battery life depending on activity levels. If you plan to use a eufy solar panel accessory, have it ready for installation after the camera is mounted.
Step-by-Step HomeBase 3 Setup
- Position the HomeBase 3 near your router. Connect it to the router with the Ethernet cable and plug in the power adapter.
- Wait for the status LED to turn solid blue, indicating network connectivity.
- Open the eufy Security app, tap "+," and select "HomeBase 3 (S380)." Follow the on-screen instructions to register it to your account.
- Optionally, install a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive into the HomeBase's expansion bay for additional local storage beyond the built-in 16 GB.
Step-by-Step Camera Setup
- Charge the eufyCam 3C fully using the USB-C cable. The LED turns green when fully charged.
- In the eufy Security app, tap "+" and select "eufyCam 3C." Press the sync button on the camera when the app prompts you.
- The camera will pair with the HomeBase 3 wirelessly. A voice prompt confirms the connection.
- Name the camera and configure initial settings: recording resolution (up to 4K), motion detection sensitivity, activity zones, and BionicMind facial recognition if desired.
Outdoor Mounting
Attach the magnetic mounting bracket to an exterior wall, eave, or post using the included screws at a height of eight to ten feet. The camera snaps magnetically onto the bracket for easy removal when charging is needed. Angle the camera slightly downward toward walkways, driveways, or entry points. The eufyCam 3C is IP67 weatherproof, so rain, snow, and temperature swings are not a concern. If you want to eliminate manual charging, purchase the eufy solar panel accessory and connect it to the USB-C port on the camera. Position the solar panel where it gets at least four hours of direct sunlight daily.
Smart Home Integration Tips
The eufyCam 3C supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit through the HomeBase 3. For HomeKit Secure Video, enable it in the eufy Security app under HomeBase settings — this provides iCloud-encrypted storage and Apple-powered detection for people, vehicles, animals, and packages. Link your eufy account in the Alexa or Google Home apps to view live streams on Echo Show and Nest Hub displays. Create Alexa routines that announce motion detection events on your Echo speakers for hands-free security awareness.
Quick Troubleshooting
If the camera does not pair, hold the sync button for five seconds and retry with the camera within 15 feet of the HomeBase. If battery drains faster than expected, reduce motion sensitivity, narrow activity zones, and decrease recording clip length in the app to conserve power. If the solar panel accessory does not maintain the charge, verify it is receiving direct sunlight and that the USB-C connection to the camera is fully seated. If BionicMind does not recognize registered faces, re-enroll them under consistent lighting conditions using the eufy Security app.
