What's in the Box

Your eufy Security SoloCam S340 package includes the camera unit, a solar panel (integrated or attached depending on the model variant), a mounting bracket, screws and wall anchors, a USB-C charging cable for initial charge, and a quick-start guide. The SoloCam S340 is a wire-free outdoor camera with a built-in solar panel for self-sustaining power, 3K resolution, 8x zoom with a dual-lens system, and 360-degree pan and tilt capability — all without requiring a HomeBase hub.

Prerequisites

Download the eufy Security app on your iOS or Android device. The SoloCam S340 connects directly to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — no HomeBase is needed. Before mounting, fully charge the camera using the included USB-C cable. The initial charge takes about three to four hours and ensures the camera has enough power to complete setup even before the solar panel begins generating energy. Choose a mounting location that receives at least three to four hours of direct sunlight daily for the solar panel to maintain the battery.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Charge the SoloCam S340 fully via USB-C before installation. The LED indicator shows the charging status.
  2. Open the eufy Security app, tap "+," and select "SoloCam S340."
  3. Press the sync button on the camera when the app prompts you. The camera enters pairing mode.
  4. Scan the QR code displayed on your phone with the camera's lens. A voice prompt confirms the scan was successful.
  5. Select your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. The camera connects and confirms with a voice prompt.
  6. Name the camera and assign it to a location.

Outdoor Mounting

Attach the mounting bracket to your exterior wall, eave, or post using the included screws. Position the bracket at eight to ten feet high for optimal motion detection range. The SoloCam S340 attaches to the bracket and allows 360-degree rotation. Crucially, orient the solar panel toward the south (in the Northern Hemisphere) for maximum sun exposure. Avoid mounting under deep eaves or overhangs that block sunlight from reaching the panel. The camera is IP67 weatherproof, handling rain, snow, and temperatures from negative four degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

Smart Home Integration Tips

The eufy Security SoloCam S340 works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Link your eufy account in the Alexa app to view live feeds on Echo Show or Fire TV devices, or in Google Home for streaming to Nest Hub displays. As of this writing, HomeKit is not supported on the SoloCam S340. For the best automated experience, create Alexa routines that send announcements when the camera detects motion in specific zones. The 360-degree pan and tilt patrol can be configured in the eufy Security app to automatically sweep across your property on a schedule.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the camera does not power on, ensure it was fully charged via USB-C before attempting setup. If Wi-Fi pairing fails, confirm your network is 2.4 GHz and that you are within reasonable Wi-Fi range of your router. If the solar panel does not seem to be charging the battery (battery percentage dropping over days), verify the panel is receiving direct sunlight and is not shaded by trees, walls, or other obstructions. Clean the solar panel surface periodically with a damp cloth to remove dust, pollen, and bird droppings that reduce charging efficiency.
