What's in the Box
The eufyCam S3 Pro package includes the camera unit (or multiple cameras in multi-camera kits), the eufy HomeBase S380, an Ethernet cable, a power adapter for the HomeBase, a solar panel charging cable (for compatible solar panels), a magnetic mounting bracket, screws and wall anchors, a USB-C charging cable, and a quick-start guide. The eufyCam S3 Pro is eufy's flagship wireless outdoor camera, featuring 4K resolution, BionicMind AI recognition, a built-in solar charging connector, and local storage on the HomeBase S380.
Prerequisites
Download the eufy Security app on your iOS or Android device. The eufyCam S3 Pro requires the HomeBase S380 hub, which provides local encrypted storage (up to 16 TB with an expandable hard drive bay) and handles all AI processing locally. You need an Ethernet port on your router and a nearby power outlet for the HomeBase. Fully charge the camera using the USB-C cable before installation — the initial charge takes approximately four hours. Check that your Wi-Fi extends to the outdoor mounting location, as the camera communicates with the HomeBase wirelessly.
Step-by-Step HomeBase S380 Setup
- Position the HomeBase S380 near your router. Connect it via the Ethernet cable and plug in the power adapter.
- Wait for the HomeBase status LED to turn solid blue, confirming it has network connectivity and is powered.
- Open the eufy Security app, tap the "+" icon, and select "HomeBase S380." The app will detect the HomeBase on your local network. Follow the prompts to register it to your account.
- If you have a compatible hard drive for expanded storage, power off the HomeBase, insert the drive into the bay on the bottom, and power it back on. The app will prompt you to format the drive.
Step-by-Step Camera Setup
- Fully charge the eufyCam S3 Pro using the included USB-C cable. The LED shows red while charging and green when complete.
- In the eufy Security app, tap the "+" icon, select "eufyCam S3 Pro," and press the sync button on the camera when prompted.
- The camera pairs with the HomeBase S380 over your Wi-Fi network. A voice confirmation indicates successful pairing.
- Name the camera and assign it to a location. Configure initial settings like recording resolution (up to 4K), motion sensitivity, and detection modes.
Outdoor Mounting
Mount the magnetic bracket at a height of eight to ten feet on an exterior wall, eave, or post. The eufyCam S3 Pro snaps magnetically onto the bracket for easy removal when charging is needed. Angle it downward approximately 15 degrees for optimal coverage. If you have a eufy solar panel, connect it to the camera's solar charging port on the bottom — this keeps the battery topped up indefinitely and eliminates the need to manually charge. Position the solar panel where it receives at least four hours of direct sunlight daily.
Smart Home Integration Tips
The eufyCam S3 Pro supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit via the HomeBase S380. For HomeKit Secure Video, enable it in the eufy Security app under HomeBase settings. This allows iCloud-encrypted video storage and Apple-native person, vehicle, and animal detection notifications. The 4K stream is downscaled to HomeKit's supported resolution when viewed through the Home app. For Alexa and Google, link your eufy account to stream live video on smart displays.
Quick Troubleshooting
If the camera does not pair, hold the sync button for five seconds and try again with the camera within 10 feet of the HomeBase. If 4K recording is choppy during playback, ensure the HomeBase's Ethernet connection is stable and the internal storage drive is functioning properly. If the solar panel does not seem to charge the camera, verify the connection is fully seated and that the panel receives direct sunlight — overcast conditions or shaded locations will not generate enough power for continuous operation.
