What's in the Box

Your Govee DreamView T1 TV Backlight (55-65") package includes the LED light strip, a camera module, a control box, calibration cards, mounting clips, adhesive strips, a power adapter, and a quick start guide. The DreamView T1 uses a camera mounted on top of your TV to analyze the on-screen content in real time and match the backlight colors to what is being displayed, creating an immersive ambient lighting effect that extends your screen into the surrounding wall.

Prerequisites

  • A TV between 55 and 65 inches in size
  • A smartphone with the Govee Home app installed (available on iOS and Android)
  • A stable 2.4GHz WiFi network with the password ready
  • A Govee Home account created and verified
  • A power outlet accessible behind or near the TV
  • Rubbing alcohol and a cloth for cleaning the back of the TV
  • Enough space behind the TV for cable routing

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Clean the back edges of your TV with rubbing alcohol to ensure the adhesive sticks properly. Let it dry completely before proceeding.
  2. Starting from the bottom center of the TV's back panel, peel the adhesive backing and press the LED strip along the bottom edge. Continue up the right side, across the top, and down the left side, following the outer edges of the TV back panel.
  3. At each corner, fold the strip gently at a 90-degree angle. Use the included mounting clips at the corners for extra support and to maintain the bend angle.
  4. Connect the end of the strip to the control box. Route the cable neatly so it does not hang loosely behind the TV.
  5. Mount the camera on top center of the TV using the included adhesive mount. The camera lens should face forward, looking at the TV screen. Adjust the angle so the camera has a clear view of the full screen.
  6. Connect the camera to the control box via the provided cable.
  7. Plug the power adapter into the control box and connect it to a wall outlet.

Camera Calibration

Calibration is essential for the DreamView T1 to accurately match colors to your screen content. Open the Govee Home app after pairing and navigate to the camera calibration section. The app will display a series of colored calibration cards on the screen. Hold each physical calibration card up to the camera when prompted so the system can learn the exact color output of your specific TV. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully, as proper calibration dramatically improves the color matching accuracy. You may need to dim the room lights during calibration for the best results.

App Pairing

  1. Power on the system. The LEDs will light up and the control box indicator will begin flashing.
  2. Open the Govee Home app and tap "+" to add a new device.
  3. Select the DreamView T1 from the device list or scan the QR code on the packaging.
  4. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and follow the pairing prompts.
  5. Connect to your 2.4GHz WiFi network when asked.
  6. Complete the camera calibration process as described above.

Smart Home Integration Tips

The DreamView T1 works with Alexa and Google Assistant. You can say "Alexa, turn on the TV backlight" or "Hey Google, set the TV lights to movie mode" for hands-free control. The video mode is the standout feature, syncing backlight colors to your screen content in real time. For music listening, switch to music mode where the built-in microphone reacts to audio. The Govee Home app also offers dozens of static and dynamic scene presets for when the TV is off and you want ambient mood lighting behind the screen.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the color matching seems inaccurate, recalibrate the camera in a dimly lit room and ensure the camera has an unobstructed view of the full screen. If the camera image appears tilted, reposition the mount so the camera sits level on top of the TV. Ambient room lighting and reflections on the TV screen can interfere with the camera's color detection, so the feature works best in darker viewing environments. If the strip begins peeling from the TV, clean the surface again and reinforce with additional adhesive strips or mounting clips.
