What's in the Box

Your Govee Glide RGBIC Wall Light package includes multiple light bar segments, connector pieces to join them together, a control box, a power adapter, mounting hardware with wall anchors and screws, an alignment template, and a quick start guide. The Glide Wall Light is a modular system that lets you create custom geometric patterns on your wall using individually addressable RGBIC segments that display flowing colors and dynamic effects.

Prerequisites

  • A smartphone with the Govee Home app installed (available on iOS and Android)
  • A stable 2.4GHz WiFi network with the password ready
  • A Govee Home account created and verified
  • A wall with enough space for your planned layout design
  • A drill or screwdriver for mounting the wall brackets (or use adhesive strips for temporary installation)
  • A pencil and level for marking bracket positions
  • A power outlet within reach of the control box

Planning Your Layout

Before mounting anything, lay out the light bar segments on a flat surface and experiment with different configurations. The segments connect at various angles, letting you create straight lines, zigzag patterns, or branching designs. Use the alignment template included in the box to visualize how the pattern will look on your wall. Take a photo of your favorite layout for reference during installation. Keep in mind that the control box needs to connect to one end of your arrangement and should be positioned near a power outlet.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Using a pencil and level, mark the positions for each mounting bracket on the wall based on your planned layout. The alignment template helps space the brackets correctly.
  2. Drill pilot holes at each marked position if you are using the included screws and wall anchors. For drywall, insert the wall anchors first, then drive the screws in, leaving them slightly protruding to hang the brackets.
  3. Attach the mounting brackets to the wall at each marked position.
  4. Snap the light bar segments into the brackets. The segments should click securely into place.
  5. Connect adjacent segments using the included connector pieces. Make sure each connection is firm and fully seated.
  6. Attach the control box to the first segment in the chain and plug the power adapter into the control box and wall outlet.

App Pairing

  1. Power on the Glide Wall Light. The segments will illuminate and the control box indicator will begin flashing.
  2. Open the Govee Home app and tap "+" to add a new device.
  3. Select the Glide Wall Light from the device list or scan the QR code from the packaging.
  4. With Bluetooth enabled, follow the prompts to pair the device and then connect it to your 2.4GHz WiFi network.
  5. The app will ask you to confirm your segment layout so that scene effects flow correctly across the panels in the right direction.

Smart Home Integration Tips

The Govee Glide RGBIC Wall Light works with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control. Use commands like "Alexa, turn on the wall light" or "Hey Google, set the wall light to rainbow." The RGBIC technology allows each segment to show different colors simultaneously, making flowing animation effects look stunning. The built-in microphone enables music reactive modes that turn your wall installation into a visual equalizer. In the Govee Home app, explore the scene library for dozens of preset effects, or create your own using the DIY mode with custom colors and animation speeds.

Quick Troubleshooting

If one segment does not light up, check that its connector piece is fully seated on both sides. Disconnect and reconnect the segment firmly. If the app does not detect the device, confirm the control box is powered on and its indicator is flashing. For layouts that look uneven on the wall, use a level to double-check bracket alignment. If you want to rearrange your layout later, the segments can be detached from the brackets and reconnected in a new configuration without needing new hardware.
