What's in the Box

Your Govee RGBIC Pro LED Strip Lights (16.4ft) package includes the upgraded RGBIC Pro LED strip, a control box with a built-in microphone, a power adapter, mounting clips, adhesive cleaning pads, and a quick start guide. The Pro version features higher LED density for smoother color transitions and more vibrant gradients compared to the standard RGBIC strip. Like other RGBIC strips, this one cannot be cut or extended due to the individually addressable IC chips embedded throughout.

Prerequisites

  • A smartphone with the Govee Home app installed (available on iOS and Android)
  • A stable 2.4GHz WiFi network with the password ready
  • A Govee Home account created and verified
  • A clean, dry, smooth mounting surface (glass, wood, drywall, or metal)
  • A power outlet within reach of the control box
  • Rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth for surface preparation

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unroll the strip completely and plan your layout. The strip is 16.4 feet total and cannot be shortened, so measure your intended surface to confirm it fits. The Pro strip's higher LED density means you will get the best visual effect on surfaces where the strip runs in a continuous line rather than making many tight turns.
  2. Clean the mounting surface with rubbing alcohol to remove all dust, grease, and moisture. Let the surface dry for at least 30 seconds before applying the strip.
  3. Begin at the end nearest your power outlet. Peel back a few inches of adhesive backing at a time and press the strip firmly onto the surface with even pressure. Work slowly and methodically along your route.
  4. At corners, create gentle bends rather than sharp folds. The Pro strip has denser LED placement, making it slightly less flexible at tight angles. A curve radius of about one inch protects the internal components.
  5. Secure corners and potential sag points with the included mounting clips for long-term adhesion.
  6. Connect the LED strip to the control box, then plug the power adapter into the control box and a wall outlet.

App Pairing

  1. Turn on the strip by pressing the button on the control box. The LEDs will light up and the control box indicator will flash to signal pairing readiness.
  2. Open the Govee Home app and tap the "+" icon to add a new device.
  3. Locate the RGBIC Pro Strip in the device list or scan the QR code from the packaging.
  4. With Bluetooth enabled on your phone, follow the prompts to pair the strip via Bluetooth.
  5. When asked, enter your 2.4GHz WiFi password to enable remote access and voice control.
  6. Assign a descriptive name to the strip such as "TV Backlight" or "Shelf Accent."

Smart Home Integration Tips

The RGBIC Pro strip is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. After linking your Govee account, use voice commands like "Alexa, set the TV lights to movie mode" for hands-free control. The Pro strip's higher LED density makes scene modes look significantly smoother, especially flowing rainbow effects and color wave animations. The built-in microphone on the control box provides room-based music sync without needing your phone, making it ideal for parties and entertainment setups. In the Govee Home app, use the segment control feature to assign different colors to specific sections of the strip.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the strip does not pair, confirm the control box LED is flashing and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Make sure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz network, not 5GHz. If the adhesive loosens over time, clean the surface again and use extra mounting clips or strong double-sided mounting tape as reinforcement. If some LEDs display incorrect colors or appear dim, check for sharp bends or pinch points along the strip that may be stressing the internal circuitry. Never cut an RGBIC Pro strip, as this permanently breaks the IC circuit.
