Step-by-Step Setup
- Download Kidde App: Install the Kidde app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Create Account: Sign up for a Kidde account or log in.
- Unbox Alarm: Remove the alarm from packaging. Note the QR code on the back.
- Add Device: In the app, tap "Add a device" and select "Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm."
- Scan QR Code: Use your phone to scan the QR code on the back of the alarm.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network credentials.
- Mount the Alarm: Install on ceiling or wall following placement guidelines. Use mounting bracket and screws.
- Test the Alarm: Press the test button to verify proper operation.
- Link Voice Assistants: Connect to Alexa or Google Assistant for voice status checks.

Troubleshooting
- QR code won't scan: Ensure good lighting. Try typing the code manually if available.
- Won't connect to Wi-Fi: Must use 2.4GHz network. Check password accuracy.
- False alarms: Relocate if near kitchen or bathroom. Clean with vacuum to remove dust.
- Chirping: Low battery or end-of-life warning. Check app for specific alert.
- Test button not working: Hold button for 3-5 seconds. Allow alarm to complete test cycle.
- End of Life: After 10 years, the alarm will alert that replacement is needed.
