What's in the Box

The Logitech Circle View is a HomeKit-exclusive indoor/outdoor security camera designed for seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem. Inside the box, you'll find the Circle View camera, a magnetic mounting base, a USB-C power cable with a power adapter, mounting screws and anchors, and a setup guide. The camera features a 180-degree wide-angle lens, infrared night vision, and an IP64 weather resistance rating, making it suitable for both indoor and sheltered outdoor locations.

Prerequisites

Before setting up the Circle View, make sure you have:

  • An iPhone or iPad with the Apple Home app (the Circle View is HomeKit-only and does not work with Android devices)
  • A HomeKit home hub — an Apple TV (4th generation or later), HomePod, or HomePod mini — for features like remote access, recording, and notifications
  • A stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (the Circle View connects via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only)
  • An iCloud account with an iCloud+ subscription if you want HomeKit Secure Video recording (allows up to 10 days of cloud-stored recordings)
  • A power outlet within reach of the camera's USB-C cable

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Choose a mounting location for the camera. Consider areas like your front porch, back door, garage, or a window with a view of your driveway. Make sure a power outlet is accessible — the Circle View requires continuous power and does not have a battery.
  2. If mounting on a wall, use the included screws and anchors to secure the magnetic base. For temporary placement, the weighted base can sit on a flat surface. The camera attaches to the base magnetically, allowing easy angle adjustments.
  3. Connect the USB-C power cable to the camera and plug the adapter into a wall outlet. The camera will power on and the status light will begin flashing, indicating it's ready for setup.
  4. Open the Home app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap the + button, then Add Accessory. Point your phone's camera at the HomeKit setup code on the Circle View or its packaging. The app will detect the camera and begin pairing.
  5. Select the room where the camera is located and give it a descriptive name (like "Front Door Camera" or "Backyard Camera"). The Home app will connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network using your HomeKit home hub.
  6. Configure your recording and notification preferences. Choose whether to stream only, stream and allow recording, or enable HomeKit Secure Video for cloud-based recording with intelligent detection. Set up activity zones to focus notifications on specific areas of the camera's view.

Smart Home Integration Tips

  • With HomeKit Secure Video enabled, the camera can distinguish between people, animals, vehicles, and packages, sending specific notifications based on what it detects. This requires an iCloud+ plan and a home hub.
  • Create automations in the Home app — for example, have your lights turn on when the camera detects motion at night, or receive a notification when a specific person is recognized at the door.
  • The Circle View integrates with other HomeKit devices. You can set up scenes like "Goodnight" that arm the camera's motion detection along with locking doors and turning off lights.
  • Use the physical privacy shutter on the camera by rotating the camera face-down on its magnetic mount. This physically blocks the lens, providing visual confirmation that the camera isn't recording.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the camera doesn't appear in the Home app during setup, make sure you're connected to a 2.4 GHz network (not 5 GHz only). Restart the camera by unplugging and reconnecting it. If the camera shows "No Response" in the Home app, check that your home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) is online and connected to the same network. For poor video quality or lag, ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong at the camera's location — consider a Wi-Fi extender if the signal is weak. Reset the camera by holding the button on the back for 10 seconds if you need to start the setup process over.
