What You'll Need

  • Lorex 4K Video Doorbell
  • Existing doorbell wiring (16-24V AC) or battery pack
  • Screwdriver and drill
  • Smartphone with Lorex app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network

Step 1: Turn Off Power

If using wired installation, turn off power to your existing doorbell at the circuit breaker. Verify power is off before proceeding.

Step 2: Remove Existing Doorbell

Remove your existing doorbell from the wall. Disconnect the wires and note their positions. If replacing a different video doorbell, remove its mounting bracket as well.

Step 3: Download the App

Download the Lorex app and create an account or sign in. This should be done before mounting for easier setup.

Step 4: Install the Mounting Bracket

Position the Lorex mounting bracket at your desired location. Use the provided template to mark drill holes. Drill and secure the bracket with included screws and anchors.

Step 5: Connect Wiring

Connect the existing doorbell wires to the terminals on the back of the doorbell. Tighten the screw terminals securely. For battery-powered installation, skip this step and insert the charged battery pack.

Step 6: Mount the Doorbell

Attach the doorbell to the mounting bracket. It should click into place. For wired installations, restore power at the circuit breaker.

Step 7: Add to App

In the Lorex app, tap the add (+) icon. Scan the QR code on your doorbell. Follow the prompts to connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

Step 8: Configure Settings

Adjust motion detection zones, sensitivity, and notification preferences in the app. Test the doorbell button to verify the chime works.
