Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Charge the battery: Remove the battery from the camera by pressing the latch. Charge using the included micro-USB cable until the 4 LED indicators are all lit (about 4 hours).
  2. Insert the battery: Slide the fully charged battery back into the camera until it clicks. The camera will power on automatically.
  3. Install microSD card (optional): Open the back cover and insert a microSD card for local recording.
  4. Download the Reolink app: Install from your app store and create an account.
  5. Add the camera: Tap "+" and select "Scan QR code on camera" or enter the UID manually.
  6. Connect to Wi-Fi: The app will guide you to connect the camera to your 2.4GHz network. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  7. Create a device password: Set a secure password for accessing the camera.
  8. Mount the camera: Install the mounting bracket using screws or the security mount. Attach the camera magnetically to the bracket.
  9. Connect solar panel (optional): For continuous power, mount the Reolink Solar Panel in direct sunlight and connect the cable to the camera's power port.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera won't connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure you're using 2.4GHz network (5GHz not supported). Move camera closer to router during setup. Double-check password.
  • Short battery life: High motion frequency drains battery faster. Reduce sensitivity. Connect solar panel for continuous charging. Disable spotlight if not needed.
  • microSD card not recognized: Use a reputable brand card (Class 10 or higher). Format the card in the Reolink app. Try a different card if problems persist.
  • Person detection not working: Update firmware to latest version. Ensure adequate lighting. Adjust detection sensitivity settings.
  • Spotlight too dim/bright: Adjust spotlight brightness in settings. Set motion-activated or scheduled operation modes.
