What You'll Need
- Reolink RLC-810A camera
- Power adapter or PoE connection
- Ethernet cable (for PoE setup)
- Mounting bracket and screws
- Smartphone with Reolink app
- PoE switch or injector (for PoE installation)
- microSD card (optional, up to 256GB)
Step-by-Step Setup
- Choose power method: The RLC-810A supports both PoE (Power over Ethernet) and DC power adapter. PoE is recommended for cleaner installation.
- For PoE setup: Connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE switch or injector to the camera. Power and network connectivity travel over the single cable.
- For DC power setup: Connect the included 12V DC adapter. Then connect an Ethernet cable to your router for network access.
- Wait for boot: The camera takes about 30 seconds to initialize after power is connected.
- Download the Reolink app: Install and create an account.
- Add camera via app: Tap "+" and scan the QR code on the camera, or select "Add Manually" and enter the camera's UID.
- Set device password: Create a secure password for the camera.
- Mount the camera: Use the included bracket and screws. The 3-axis gimbal design allows flexible angle adjustment.
- Insert microSD card (optional): For local recording without an NVR, insert a microSD card and format it in the app.

Troubleshooting
- Camera not getting power over PoE: Verify PoE switch/injector supports 802.3af standard. Test with a different Ethernet cable. Check switch port status.
- Not appearing in app: Ensure phone is on the same network as camera. Check that camera has valid IP address via router's device list.
- 4K stream stuttering: 4K requires significant bandwidth. Ensure network supports at least 8-10Mbps upstream. Reduce to 1080p stream for remote viewing.
- Night vision range poor: IR LEDs may be reflecting off nearby surfaces. Adjust camera angle. Clean lens cover.
- Person detection missing events: Update firmware. Adjust detection sensitivity. Ensure subject is large enough in frame (at least 1/16 of image area).
