Step-by-Step Setup
- Choose installation type: The Spotlight Cam Pro can be plugged into an outdoor outlet or hardwired. For hardwired installation, turn off power at the circuit breaker first.
- Plug in or wire the camera: For plug-in: Connect the included power adapter to an outdoor outlet. For hardwired: Connect the camera's wires to your electrical wiring (white to white, black to black, green to ground).
- Verify power: The LED ring light will illuminate when power is connected.
- Open the Ring app: Tap "Set Up a Device" → "Cameras" → "Spotlight Cam Pro Plug-In" or "Spotlight Cam Pro Wired."
- Scan the QR code: Find the QR code on the camera or in the Quick Start Guide and scan it.
- Put camera in setup mode: Press the orange button on the back until the light ring spins blue.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the prompts to connect your phone to the camera temporarily, then select your home network and enter the password.
- Set camera location: Choose a name for your camera location.
- Mount the camera: Use the mounting plate as a template. Drill pilot holes and secure with the provided screws. Slide the camera onto the mount.
- Configure 3D Motion Detection: The app will walk you through setting up radar-based motion detection and Bird's Eye View zones.

Troubleshooting
- No power to camera: For plug-in, verify outlet is working. For hardwired, check circuit breaker and wire connections.
- Setup mode won't activate: Press and hold the orange button for 20 seconds to perform a hard reset.
- 3D Motion Detection not working: Ensure the camera has a clear, unobstructed view. Radar-based detection works best at angles rather than straight-on approaches.
- Bird's Eye View inaccurate: Recalibrate the feature in the app by accurately mapping your property boundaries.
- Wi-Fi disconnects frequently: Check signal strength in Device Health. Consider a Ring Chime Pro to extend Wi-Fi coverage.
