Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Position the camera: Place on a flat surface with clearance for pan/tilt movement (360° horizontal, 115° vertical).
  2. Connect power: Plug in the USB cable and adapter. The camera will power on and the indicator will blink.
  3. Download SwitchBot app: Install and sign in to your account.
  4. Add the camera: Tap "+" → "Pan/Tilt Cam" and follow the setup wizard.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi: When the indicator blinks blue, enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi credentials. Wait for connection confirmation.
  6. Insert microSD card (optional): For local recording, insert a microSD card into the slot and format it in the app.
  7. Configure motion tracking: Enable or disable auto-tracking that follows detected motion.
  8. Set up privacy mode: Configure the physical privacy mode that points the camera downward into the base.
  9. Link SwitchBot devices: Create automations with other SwitchBot products (cameras can trigger based on motion).

Troubleshooting

  • Camera not found during setup: Ensure indicator is blinking blue. Only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi supported. Move closer to router.
  • Pan/tilt making noise: Some mechanical sound is normal. If grinding, check for obstructions. Contact support for unusual noises.
  • Motion tracking loses subject: Subject may be moving too fast or leaving frame. Ensure adequate lighting. Adjust tracking sensitivity.
  • Privacy mode won't activate: Toggle in app. Power cycle if stuck. Update firmware to latest version.
  • microSD recording issues: Use Class 10 or higher cards. Format in the app. Enable continuous or motion-triggered recording in settings.
