What You'll Need

  • WiZ A19 Matter Smart Bulb
  • Standard E26 light socket
  • Matter-compatible controller (Apple Home, Google Home, etc.)
  • Smartphone with WiZ app or Matter controller app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Turn off the fixture: Ensure the light is switched off before installation.
  2. Install the bulb: Screw the WiZ A19 bulb into the E26 socket.
  3. Turn on power: Switch on the fixture. The bulb will illuminate and start pulsing to indicate pairing mode.
  4. Open Matter controller: Use Apple Home, Google Home, SmartThings, or another Matter-compatible app.
  5. Add device: Tap "+" to add a new accessory.
  6. Scan Matter code: Locate the QR code on the bulb packaging and scan it with your phone.
  7. Wait for connection: The bulb will connect via Wi-Fi to your home network.
  8. Assign room: Place the bulb in the appropriate room.
  9. Customize: Set scenes, schedules, and preferred brightness/color settings.

Troubleshooting

  • Bulb not in pairing mode: Turn the bulb off and on 3 times quickly (1 second each). It should start pulsing.
  • Matter pairing fails: Ensure you're on a 2.4GHz network. Move closer to router. Try scanning code again or enter manually.
  • Bulb disconnects: Check Wi-Fi signal strength. Update bulb firmware via WiZ app. Ensure router isn't blocking the device.
  • Colors look different than expected: Color accuracy varies by bulb. Adjust using color wheel or preset scenes.
  • Can't control from all platforms: Matter supports multi-admin—add the device to each ecosystem using the pairing process.
