Step-by-Step Setup
- Download X-Sense Home app: Install and create an X-Sense account.
- Set up Base Station (if using): For wireless interconnection, set up the SBS50 base station first. Connect to Wi-Fi through the app.
- Install mounting bracket: Screw the bracket to the ceiling, at least 4 inches from any wall. Avoid areas near kitchens, bathrooms, or vents.
- Insert batteries: Open the battery compartment and insert the included batteries observing correct polarity.
- Add to app: Tap "+" in the app and select your smoke detector model. Scan the QR code on the device.
- Connect to Wi-Fi (or Base Station): Follow the app prompts to connect directly to Wi-Fi or link to your Base Station.
- Attach to bracket: Twist the detector onto the mounting bracket until secure.
- Test the alarm: Press and hold the Test button until the alarm sounds. The app will show a test notification.
- Name and locate: Assign a location name in the app for easy identification.

Troubleshooting
- Won't connect to Wi-Fi: Only 2.4GHz supported. Reset detector by removing batteries for 10 seconds. Ensure router isn't blocking new devices.
- Not linking to Base Station: Ensure Base Station is online. Move detector closer during initial pairing. Check that detector model is compatible.
- Frequent false alarms: Relocate away from cooking areas or bathrooms. Clean detector with compressed air. Check for insects.
- No app notifications: Check phone notification permissions. Verify detector shows online in app. Test Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Chirping every 30 seconds: Low battery warning—replace batteries immediately. If chirping persists with new batteries, the unit may need replacement.
